A stunning Sheraton card table of magnificent figured Cuban mahogany, this piece exhibits the finest qualities of Salem, Massachusetts shop of cabinetmaker/architect Samuel McIntyre. A flip-top bow front slab table with scalloped corners is supported by columnettes with rosette-decorated friezes, matchbook figured veneer, and acanthus baluster capitals with deeply reeded tapering legs terminating in collared bases. A stately and versatile piece of American furniture, circa 1815.
