An exceptional rosewood spoon or Roman chair, incised lacquered and brass center splat detail with anthemion and griffin pair. Saber legs are decorated on the front by brass decal rosettes, and the seat rail decorated by inset grass bead coursing. The legs sit on original castors. Caned seat. Upholstered cushion in a cream cotton twill. England, c. 1820.
