Mid-18th Century Tiger Oak Livery Armoire

A stunning armoire with clean simple lines and masculine, handsome proportions. The coloring is particularly Fine with a deep amber hue. The case sits on bun feet with concealed castors. A simple Covetto cornice crowns the top with Fine incised cockbeaded edges throughout. Two drawers with bail handle pulls sit beneath the two panelled doors which open to shelving that originally held tack for horse-riding in an English country house. Large hanging hooks for bridles and hats remain inside. An exceptionally attractive, useful piece of Georgian furniture, England, circa 1740.
